FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to petrophysical analysis of fluid saturation of complex shale oil-gas-material hydrocarbon reservoirs, namely to determination of water content of rocks by laboratory evaporation methods. Method of laboratory determination of water content includes obtaining core fragments, preparation of rock samples, evaporation of aqueous phase and measurement of amount of extracted water, wherein core fragments are obtained by extracting cylindrical rock fragments from the well with coring pickups and isolating the extracted core fragments from contact with the surrounding environment by forming a protective hermetic shell, immediately from the moment of core sampling from the well during core sampling by non-insecting core, or immediately after opening of the core-receiving pipe at coring sampling with core sampler, or immediately after discharge of core-receiving container during core sampling with side drill; before beginning of studies in laboratory on water content samples of rocks are prepared, for which protective-tight shell is removed from core fragment, then within next 5–15 minutes, from the moment of opening of the protective hermetic shell, a sample of rock with size of fragments (pieces) from 1 cm to the size of the cuvette is taken from the central part of the core fragment, and the obtained fraction is loaded with mass in range of 5 ÷ 200 g into the cuvette; water content of the cuvette content is determined by evaporation of an aqueous phase, the vapor of which is condensed and collected into a receiving container, and directly measuring the volume and/or weight of the extracted water, with separation of total water content into free water content and physically bound water content; wherein evaporation of aqueous phase is performed by stepwise heating of sample of collected rock in closed cuvette to maximum temperature of 350 °C.;EFFECT: high rate, mobility, efficiency and accuracy of determining total content of free and physically bound water in rocks.;10 cl, 1 tbl, 9 dwg
