FIELD: textile.;SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to knitted fabric for use in self-defense in combat contacts and arts, using which various levels of security are achieved, required for safe combat contact both for training purposes for martial arts, and for personal safety purposes. Knitted fabric for use in self-defense in combat contacts and arts is characterized by fact that fabric thread consists of high-molecular polyethylene UHMWPE, wherein thread has high specific strength of 35-45 g/denier, tensile strength of 350 kg/mm², modulus of elasticity of UHMWPE-fiber of 11600 kg/mm², axial tensile strength of 3 GPa, axial modulus of elasticity of 100 GPa, axial compression strength 0.1 GPa, axial compression module 100 GPa, radial tensile strength 0.03 GPa, radial module 3 GPa, creep rate at 22 °C/20% load 1×10-2%/d, melting point of material 140-160 °C, density of 0.96-0.97 g/cm³, has weight from 200 to 1800 g/m². There are used several layers of fabric superimposed on each other and sewn together by a suture, at which area of 1 m² is preserved with specific weight within 200 to 1800 g, minimum thickness is 0.9-1.5 mm, weight varies from 200 g/m² to 650 g/m² with 5% of tolerable error, method of unidirectional woven knitting pattern is used, fibers of UHMWPE thread itself are defined by high value of molecular weight from 3 to 10000000 g/mol, long linear chains of polyethylene with relatively weak intermolecular bonds are interconnected by means of engagement of molecules, as well as through molecules.;EFFECT: improved operational characteristics, increased strength, resistance to impact and to cracking of obtained knitted fabric for use in self-defense in combat contacts at action on it by any object, for example knife, with application of force.;1 cl, 2 dwg
