A method is described for the detection of arcing faults on AC and DC low-voltage networks with the help of high-frequency radio technology, which analyzes the electromagnetic wave of the arcing fault. This eliminates the need for AFDDs that monitor only one circuit of the network installation. The volume of large buildings can be monitored with only three detectors if the arcing power is 10W. The local detection of an arcing fault takes place in spatial coordinates related to the monitored building and can be transformed to global coordinates. This enables central, national or worldwide monitoring of arcing faults.
