The invention relates to a godet box which has a housing for receiving one or more godets for treating a thread. Such godet boxes have an inlet through which the thread can be guided into the godet box. The thread can be led out of the godet box through an outlet. A vacuum can be created in the interior of the godet box by means of suction to prevent heat loss from heated godets and air influences on the thread. The vacuum that can be generated is relatively low in the known godet boxes, since a lot of air can pass through the inlet and the outlet. With higher vacuum classes, both the energy consumption of a suction fan and the air flows from the inlet and outlet to the suction fan become too great. The invention counteracts this problem in that the inlet and / or the outlet has a thread labyrinth seal. In this way, high vacuum classes can be achieved within the godet box.
