A fully automatic coffee machine with a cup rack and a method for operating a fully automatic coffee machine with a cup rack are proposed. The cup rack serves as a cup storage area and as an unloading area. The spout of the fully automatic coffee machine can be moved relative to the cup shelf. The movement takes place in one direction and its opposite direction or only in one direction and after a certain path of movement of the spout to the cup holder, the starting position is reached again. The relative movement between the cup holder and the spout of the coffee machine makes it possible to fill all cups on the cup holder.
