The present invention relates to an environment detection system. The environment detection system comprises a first environment sensor with a variable viewing angle, which is set up to provide first information about a first spatial area. The first area of the room depends on an instantaneous viewing angle of the first environment sensor. The environment detection system further comprises a second environment sensor, which is set up to provide second information about a second spatial area. The first room area is a partial area of the second room area. Furthermore, the environment detection system comprises an evaluation element, which is set up to determine the current viewing angle of the first environment sensor based on a comparison of the first information and the second information.
