An electrode material includes a composite that includes a core wire composed of a nickel base material containing 96 mass% or more of Ni and a cover that covers an outer peripheral surface of the core wire and does not cover but expose an end face of the core wire. The cover is composed of a nickel alloy with 10 mass% or more and 30 mass% or less Cr and 0.1 mass% or more and 6 mass% or less Al. The composite has a specific resistance of less than 50 µΩ · cm.
