A method for filling a fiber box of a bundle separator of a brush tufting machine provides that the bristle packs are inserted into one of several receptacles (42) of an intermediate store (32) after the pack casing has been removed. The bristle packs (44, 46) are transferred from the receptacles (42) into the corresponding fiber channel (14, 16) by means of a mechanical transport device (50). A bundle separator is also presented.
