The present invention concerns a drive train (10) of a commercial vehicle (12),in particular a truck, comprising an engine (14),an engine driven or driven drive shaft (18),a main drive shaft (18) interacting with the drive shaft (20),and a rear axle drive (22),which interacts with the drive shaft (18) and transmits the rotation of the drive shaft (18) to at least two rear axles (23) and a front drive which interacts with the drive shaft (18),where the front drive (30) is located between the main drive (20) and the rear axle drive (22) and has at least two stages which can be switched on with a switching device (58). Furthermore, the invention concerns a commercial vehicle (12),which has such a drive train (10). In addition, the invention concerns a process for switching off a parent drive (30) of such a drive train (12).
