Use of foam bodies for finishing items of laundry and a method and laundry treatment device suitable therefor

The invention relates to a method for applying a finishing composition 3 to an item of laundry 7 in a laundry treatment device 1 with a rotatably mounted drum 2 and a control unit 12, wherein (a) moist items of laundry 7 are provided in the drum 2; and (b) at least one foam body 8, which is soaked with a liquid containing the finishing composition 3, in particular an aqueous liquid, is placed in the drum 2; and (c) the damp laundry items 7 in the drum 2 are brought into intimate contact with the at least one foam body 8 by a rotation of the drum 2, so that the finishing composition 3 contained in the foam body 8 is at least partially transferred to the damp laundry items 7. The invention also relates to a laundry treatment device suitable for carrying out this method and the use of at least one foam body for applying a finishing composition 3 to an item 7 of laundry.
