An unusual temperature detection system is provided which has a simple structure and can confirm whether an abnormal temperature has been reached at one or more locations among a plurality of locations along the entire cable. An abnormal temperature detection system 1 detects an abnormal temperature in a cable 4 used to transmit power to an electric device 3, the system 1 includes first and second conductors 11 and 12 along a longitudinal axis direction of the cable 4 and a plurality of temperature-sensitive electronic components 13 arranged along the longitudinal axis direction of the cable 4 and electrically connected in parallel with the first and second conductors 11 and 12. The first and second conductors 11 and 12 and the plurality of temperature-sensitive electronic components 13 constitute an electric circuit 10. An abnormal temperature is detected based on an electrical signal from the electric circuit 10.
