The present invention relates to a return system for steam in an oven (1) which has a baking chamber (2) and a steam device (3). A steam channel (4) is arranged in the baking chamber (2), a line (7) being connected to the upper end of the steam channel (4) which is connected to a lower part of the baking chamber (2) and thus enables gas recirculation. This means that swaths can be used multiple times, and the energy and water requirements for steam generation can be reduced considerably.
