A method for prescriptive guidance of an operator of an ultrasound imaging probe includes capturing a sequence of image clips of a target organ using an ultrasound imaging probe, determining a particular view of the target organ imaged on the captured image clips, and assessing a quality of each of the captured image clips in relation to each other on the particular view. If the assessed quality is below a predetermined satisfactory quality for the specific view, a prescriptive movement of the probe is calculated which was predetermined to bring about an improvement in the quality of an image clip of the target organ captured later for the specific view. Then, in response to determining that the prescriptive movement has been calculated a threshold number of times in connection with the sequence of image clips, the prescriptive movement is displayed concurrently with a display of subsequently captured image clips of the target organ.
