A portable machining device (1) placeable on a long jig (60) placed on an upper surface of a workpiece (W) has a base (2) placeable on the long jig (60), a body (10) having a cutting edge (11) for machining a workpiece (W), an angle plate (53, 56) fixed to the base (2) for supporting the body (10) in a tiltable manner, and a projection (54, 57) has a body support (50) which is located between the body (10) and the base (2) and has a guide (51b, 52b) which can be engaged with the projection (54, 57), to allow the projection (54, 57) to slide on the guide (51b, 52b), and a spring (55, 58) which biases the projection (54, 57) in the direction of the guide (51b, 52b).
