Device for converting thermal energy into electrical energy, with several TE elements (1) as a thermal generator (11); and a holding device (3,31,32,33,34,35,36) which is designed to combine several modules (21) equipped with TE elements into a unit, the modules consisting of highly thermally conductive groove profiles (22) , in which tubes (24) made of a material that conducts heat well, dissipate the thermal energy of a medium carried in them on one side of the TE elements and on the other side in order to provide the required temperature gradient for the function as a thermal generator.
