Tracking device (1) for following up contacts within a group of people in order to contain the spread of a contagious disease, the tracking device (1) being adapted to a) to send out a respective individual identification, b) receive the individual identifications from other tracking devices (1) within range, c) in b) to store received individual identifications in a log, and wherein the log of the tracking device (1) can be read out by a reading device (2).
