METHOD OF DETERMINING A LEVEL OF ATTENTION OF A DRIVER OF A MOTOR VEHICLE AND METHOD OF STIMULATING THE ATTENTION OF A DRIVER OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

The invention relates to a method for determining a level of attention of a driver of a motor vehicle, comprising the following steps: i) acquiring, during a first time interval, several successive values of a effective quantity representative of a control action by the driver of the motor vehicle on a control member of this vehicle, and iii) the driver's level of attention is determined as a function of said acquired values. According to the invention, this method comprises at successive time intervals, a step ii) of determining a type of road (TR (k)) on which the motor vehicle is traveling, and of verifying whether said type of road has changed since l 'previous interval, and in step iii), the driver's attention level is determined also as a function of the result of the verification of a change of road type (DTR (k)). An associated method of stimulating the attention of a driver of a motor vehicle is also described.
