An electrical equipment protection system, receives a current intended for supplying the electrical equipment and comprises current measurement means and switching means configured to allow to deliver or not to deliver the output current. (Is) of the protection system as a function of the value of the measured current and following a tripping curve (l2t). The switching means are further configured to bias the transistors constituting them in order to make them operate in linear mode for a predefined period of time (T), when said measured current is substantially equal to the predefined maximum value (Imax). Use in particular for the protection of electrical equipment in an aircraft.
