The invention relates to a passenger seat (10) of a transport vehicle, in particular a rail vehicle, comprising a seat (11) extending in a plane, called the horizontal plane, a backrest (12) and at least one lateral armrest (20 , 30) intended to form at least one horizontal bearing surface of an arm of a passenger seated on said seat (11) and leaning against said backrest (12) of said passenger seat, characterized in that at least one lateral armrest (20, 30) is mounted on said seat so as to be able to pass from a first position, called arm comfort position, in which said armrest (20, 30) has a first horizontal support surface (21) for receiving of a passenger's arm, towards at least a second position, called the comfort-sitting position, in which said armrest has a second horizontal support surface (22) for receiving a passenger's arm, distinct of said first horizontal bearing surface.
