A method for configuring a heating installation in a building comprises a sequential presentation to a user of interrogations, an analysis of responses provided by the user to the interrogations via a user interface, the responses comprising at least one identification of a first thermal energy production equipment, a step of determining configuration parameters taking into account the analyzed responses, this determination step comprising a step of identifying a second thermal regulation device compatible with the characteristics of the first thermal energy production equipment identified and a step of updating the configuration parameters with at least one reference of the second thermal regulation device identified and a quantity by reference of the second thermal regulation device, the second regulation device n thermal referenced in the configuration parameters being able to be integrated into the installation replacing a first thermal regulation device.
