The invention relates to the quantification of photovoltaic panels to be installed in at least one candidate location in a given geographic area. A method is provided comprising: - obtaining, for at least one local electrical consumption service point in said candidate location, an estimate of a charge curve for electrical consumption of said local service point, - obtaining, from meteorological readings , a measurement of solar irradiance in the geographic area, and estimate, as a function of the measurement of solar irradiance, an electrical production capacity by photovoltaic panel in said geographic area, - count, as a function of said electrical production capacity, a number of photovoltaic panels capable of providing together a maximum electrical production, below a threshold determined as a function of said estimate of the charge curve, with a view to installing said number thus counted of photovoltaic panels in the candidate location.
