The device includes a ruler (1) carrying a note table (2), along which run slides (3) carrying rulers (4) provided with pointers so that they indicate the intervals of the corresponding range with the strip. This rule is equipped with a note table on 2 of its 4 sides, on one the semitones appear in the form of sharps, on the other they appear in the form of flats. The optional and removable device comprises xylophone blades (5), carried by a frame (6) comprising a pivot (7) allowing the rotation of the rule and its two slides at 180 ° around the longitudinal axis, in order to study the scales according to the scale of the half tones by sharps, or by flats.
