A method controls the deceleration of a partially automated driving vehicle and comprising a non-thermal drive machine providing torque for a train or inducing its deceleration by energy recovery on the train according to a torque setpoint, and a braking system decelerates it according to a deceleration setpoint. This method comprises a step (10-50) in which, if a deceleration is necessary during an automated driving phase, the torque setpoint is determined as a function of a minimum authorized torque and of constraints until the latter is reached, and the deceleration setpoint is determined as a function of the constraints and from a first selected instant preceding a second instant when the minimum authorized torque is reached, so that the deceleration results from energy recovery and braking system between the first and second moments.
