The invention relates to a method of additivation of a fuel supplying a thermal engine (2) for an additivation of the soot created during combustion in the engine (2), the additive soot being discharged from the engine (2) in a line of fuel. 'exhaust and retained in a particulate filter (3), an additive addition being carried out in a first fuel tank (1), a nominal additivation setpoint being fixed for a fuel supply in the engine (2). Fuel from a second tank (4), with a second percentage of additivation different from a first percentage of the first tank (1), is mixed with fuel from the first tank (1), a quantity of fuel from the second tank (4) being determined as a function of the second percentage, a quantity from the first tank (1), the nominal additive setpoint and a target additive setpoint to be reached for a final mixture feeding the engine (2).
