Method for optimizing an energy dimensioning of an alternator (1) of a vehicle (2) as a function of: - a plurality of consumer units (3) of said vehicle (2), and - a plurality of scenarios (S1-Sn), with each component (3) are associated: - at least one electrical consumption value (I1-I5), - at least one set of activation rates of said component, said activation rates being listed as a function of a plurality of climates and of said scenarios, the electricity consumption value constituting a consumption vector (Vc) and said set of activation rates constituting a use matrix (Mu), the method comprising: - a determination, for each consumer unit, of an intermediate matrix obtained by a product, term by term, of said consumption vector by each row of said use matrix, and - a determination of a sizing matrix obtained by a matrix sum intermediate matrices.
