A voting device (10) comprises a voting terminal (12) including a sign (14) representative of an opinion to be expressed by a user (13), a presence sensor (16) and a vote sensor (18) . The presence sensor (16) is suitable for detecting whether the user (13) is in a proximity zone (20) of the voting terminal (12). The vote sensor (18) is adapted to detect whether a hand (15) of the user (13) is in a proximity zone (22) of the opinion sign (14). A vote associated with the sign (14) is counted when the presence sensor (16) detects the presence of the user (13) in the proximity zone (20) of the voting terminal (12) and that subsequently the vote (18) detects the presence of the hand (15) of the user (13) in the proximity zone (22) of the sign (14).
