The invention relates to a road device, in particular a manhole, comprising a fixed frame and at least one buffer articulated on the fixed frame so as to pivot between a closed position of the manhole, in which said buffer rests on or in the fixed frame, and a stable open position, in which said tampon is pivoted upwardly, said device also comprising holding members for maintaining the tampon in its open position. According to the invention, the holding members comprise: - a crutch, one end of which is pivotally mounted on the fixed frame and the other end of which has an elongated bent groove, - a drive rod secured to the buffer and engaged in the elongated groove bent to slide in said elongated bent groove when opening / closing the buffer and pivoting the crutch, - an external projecting shoulder on the crutch, - a locking lever pivotally mounted under the buffer, one transverse end of which is shaped to bear on the shoulder when the buffer is in its open position, and thus locking, in cooperation with the crutch, the buffer in its open position.
