A mounting device for mounting a gangway interface section 10 of a rail vehicle to a car interface section 8 of the rail vehicle comprises positioning thread holes 2 and fixation thread holes 3. The mounting element may be a bar element 1. The mounting element may contain a recess. The mounting element may comprise a positioning bolt 16 and an adjustment element 17. A free end of the mounting element may be curved. A mounting section of the car interface section may have a positioning through hole 11 and fixation through holes 12. The positioning thread hole of the mounting element may be aligned with the positioning though hole of the car interface section such that the mounting element is aligned with the fixation though hole of the car interface section. A method of mounting the gangway interface section to the car interface section is also disclosed.
