Hybrid-tieback seal assembly using method and system for interventionless hydraulic setting of equipment when performing subterranean operations
A method of tying a well back to the surface includes running a hybrid-tieback seal assembly (fig 5A-5P, 500) having an anchor and a packer seal assembly into the wellbore 602, landing a wellhead hanger 604, and setting the anchor and packer within either a liner hanger receptacle 606, 608 or a host casing above a hanger (fig. 12, 1206 & 1208). The hybrid-tieback seal assembly may include a setting tool with a compensating volume and a working volume separated by a hydraulic device. The anchor or packer may be set by applying a pressure to the compensating volume, resulting in a pressure being applied to the working volume. The pressure applied to the compensating volume is then reduced and the pressure applied to the working volume is captured by the hydraulic control devices. The captured pressure in the working volume is applied to set the anchor or packer.
