Golf club heads with optimized characteristics and related methods

A driver or wood type golf club head having a centre of gravity depth 2510, defined by the vertical projections down from the centrepoint of the strikeface (2280 projecting down from 1211) and projecting down from the centre of gravity (1610 projecting down from 2500); wherein the centre of gravity depth is at least 41mm, and having a defined centre of gravity height (2520 projecting down 2320) where the centre of gravity height is at less than 5.08mm. Additionally either the horizontal moment of inertia (1811 about 1810, figure 1) is at least 39% of the moment of inertia about the hosel (1711 about 1710, figure 1), or the vertical moment of inertia about the vertical going through the centre of gravity (1611 about 1610, figure 1) is at least 59% of the moment of inertia about the hosel (1711 about 1710, figure 1). This centre of gravity location is alleged to be unusually low and rearward compared to prior art at filing.
