A laryngeal mask airway device includes a flexible tube set 1 having a juxtaposed airway tube 11 and air guide tube 12 with a self-inflating annular mask 2 comprising an outer membrane 21 surrounding an outer periphery of one end of the airway tube and having an elastic filler such as foam or a composite material or thin elastic layer disposed inside the outer membrane. In use, the outer membrane is squeezed to compress the elastic filler, the end of the air guide tube is closed, the annular mask of the flexible tube set is positioned in a patient's throat then the air guide tube reopened for the elastic filler to self-inflate the mask. There is a clamping recess 141 in a side of an end plate 14 to hold the air guide tube, with a recessed clamping groove 142 which acts as a side-entry slide clamp to close the tube.
