A bistable electromagnet, comprising block-shaped permanent magnets (1), a coil package (2), a reversible magnet (3), a magnetizer (4), and a housing (5). The reversible magnet (3) is disposed in the upper half of an inner cavity of the housing (5); the circumferential side of the reversible magnet (3) is covered by the coil package (2); upper and lower surfaces of the reversible magnet (3) are different magnetic poles; the magnetic axis of the reversible magnet (3) coincides with the geometric central axis of the reversible magnet (3); the upper surface of the reversible magnet (3) is attached to the housing (5); the magnetizer (4) is disposed in the lower half of the inner cavity of the housing (5); the lower surface of the reversible magnet (3) is attached to the magnetizer (4); the multiple independent block-shaped permanent magnets (1) are disposed between the magnetizer (4) and the inner wall of the lower half of the inner cavity of the housing (5); the multiple independent block-shaped permanent magnets (1) are uniformly disposed along the circumference of the magnetizer (4); polarity arrangement of the adjacent block-shaped permanent magnets (1) keeps consistent; the magnetic axis points to the center of the circumference of the magnetizer (4). The bistable electromagnet is provided with two kinds of stable states, flexible and controllable instant completion does not require continuous power supply, and therefore, the bistable electromagnet is not caused to continue to generate heat; hence the bistable electromagnet is an energy-saving and reliable electro-magnetic conversion device.
