Provided is a method for sending channel state information. The method comprises: determining the type of channel state information of a first reference signal according to the channel quality of the first reference signal; and sending indication information and the channel state information corresponding to the type, wherein the indication information is used for indicating the type. A terminal device reports different types of channel state information based on different channel qualities and does not need to report all types of channel state information, such that the amount of reported information is reduced, thereby reducing the overhead of air interface resources.
