The present invention relates to a composition for promoting mammary epithelial cell proliferation, comprising fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2) as an active ingredient. The composition according to the present invention is a material in the body, which can minimize toxicity or side effects in the body compared to chemical compounds, and through activation of protein expression in PI3K/AKT and MAPK signaling pathways and reduction of expression of vesicle stress-inducing proteins. Since it is possible to improve the proliferation of mammary epithelial cells, it can be usefully used in various fields related to pharmaceutical compositions, food compositions, feed additive compositions for improving the amount of oil through improving mammary gland function.
