To improve user convenience in a system which distributes a video content, preserved in a server, through a network.SOLUTION: A video service proxy device which is connected between a home network and a WAN includes: a WAN side processing unit which acquires video content information from the WAN side server; and a home network side processing unit which operates as a proxy of the server, to perform proxy processing in which video content information acquired by the WAN side processing unit is given to a display device of the home network side so that the display device can reproduce the video content information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
