The present invention provides a method for obtaining an index value used for histopathological diagnosis of prostate cancer, which can be implemented with low invasiveness and low cost. The method according to the present invention is a method for estimating a Gleason score representing the malignancy of prostate cancer, wherein a PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen: prostate) having an N-acetylgalactosamine residue in a non-reducing end of a sugar chain in a sample. When the content of the specific antigen) is measured and the measured value is larger than the threshold value, the Gleason score is estimated to be 7 or more, or the measured value is smaller than the threshold value and the Gleason score is 6 or less. This is a method for estimating a Gleason score. The quantification of the PSA is carried out by measuring a molecule having an affinity for β-N-acetylgalactosamine residues, such as nodafuji lectin (WFA), soybean agglutinin (SBA) or crows pea lectin (VVL), or anti-β-N. -It is preferably performed by a method comprising a step of binding an acetylgalactosamine antibody to the PSA.
