If the pitot tube is suspected to be damaged, a signal that can be used in place of the pitot tube signal is generated.A flight control system for an aircraft is disclosed and includes one or more processors and memory coupled to the processor.The memory stores data including a program code that allows the flight control system to receive an input angle of attack based on an unprocessed angle of attack and an estimated angle of attack based on the total pressure to the flight control system when executed in the database and one or more processors.The flight control system further determines the error by comparing the measured angle of attack with the estimated angle of attack.In response to the determination that the error between the measurement angle of attack and the estimated angle of attack exceeds the threshold, the flight control system determines the presence of a fault with an angle of attack.Diagram
