PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To modify carbon black (in particular, to activate it to increase a specific surface area), and it is not necessary to separately provide a modifying reactor, and in a combustion reactor for forming existing carbon black, modification to carbon black is performed. Provided are a carbon black manufacturing apparatus capable of continuously performing quality treatment, and a method of manufacturing carbon black using the same. SOLUTION: A carbon black powder forming combustion reactor 110 is located downstream of the combustion reactor, and the carbon black powder formed in the combustion reactor is mixed with a dispersion medium to form a carbon black slurry. An apparatus for producing carbon black, comprising: a mixing section 140; and a reflux section 150 located downstream of the mixing section for refluxing the carbon black slurry formed in the mixing section to the combustion reactor.
