A scalable method for generating transfection reagents

The present invention provides a scalable method for making a DNA/transfection reagent master mix for transfecting cultured cells. In one aspect, the present invention provides: (1) introducing a DNA solution and a transfection reagent solution into a mixing container to produce a transfection master mix; and (2) a steady-state concentration of DNA in the transfection master mix. Rocking the mixing vessel with a mechanical rocking device for a time sufficient to reach the temperature of (3), and (3) incubating the transfection master mix during the incubation time, wherein the transfection master mix is performed during the incubation time. And a step in which the transfection master mix is substantially stationary is provided.
