The present invention relates to methods and compositions for reducing the deposition of pitch and sticky in a papermaking process. The method involves introducing an anionic glycerol-based polymer into the papermaking process. This anionic polymer prevents pitch and sticky from being deposited and agglomerated in the papermaking process.
