The invention concerns a device for waste collection, in particular for highly compressible and/or hospital waste having an activity for care with risks of infection or the like, comprising a disposable bag (2) having a filling opening (3), a substantially horizontal frame (5) whereto the bag may be fixed via at least one edge portion of the bag opening, and means for closing the bag after it has been filled. The closure means comprises a flexible wall element (8); suction means (10) is provided to evacuate part of the air volume contained in the bag. The suction means is located (11) substantially at the center of the flexible wall element (8).
