The present invention provides a method of assigning a possibility of having kidney disease, including the step of providing urine samples from a patient and measuring the concentration of T cells, podocytes and proximal tubule epithelial cells, or assigning the possibility of undergoing renal transplant rejection to the patient. The ratio of these cell types is used to measure the risk of kidney disease or transplant rejection.Diagram
