A method of manufacturing an electrochemical device, such as an electrochromic system or an energy storage system, comprising the following successive steps: a) providing a substrate (1), b) forming on the substrate (1) n elementary entities (8), with n greater than or equal to 2, each elementary entity (8) comprising: - a first current collector, of a first polarity, - a first electrode, - a thin ionically conductive and electrically insulating layer , - a second electrode, - a second current collector, of a second polarity, c) cutting the substrate (1), the cutting being carried out so as to have at least x whole elementary entities (8), on the substrate ( 1), with x greater than or equal to 2 and x less than or equal to n, d) electrically connect in parallel the current collectors of the same polarity of the x whole elementary entities (8).
