Preparation of solvent and polymer redispersible formulations of dry cellulose nanocrystals (CNC)

The present disclosure provides a redispersible CNC. The CNCs disclosed herein are redispersible in non-polar and polar organic solvents, as well as polar polymers and non-polar polymers such as polyethylene or polypropylene. The present disclosure surprisingly also provides redispersible CNCs with improved redispersion in water systems, especially high ionic strength water systems, which typically require significant mixing energy to achieve dispersion.
