The present invention relates to a robot (1) for renovating and/or inspecting a duct, in particular a penstock. The robot is of the type having a double movement tripod with feet (31 to 33; 41 to 43) in which the movement tracks (34; 44), each one preferably motorised, ensure self-support as well as reliable and accurate movement, even in ducts with a very steep inclination, or vertical ducts, and which is provided with an anti-twisting moving system. The invention likewise relates to the associated method for moving the robot (1).
