The invention relates to a method for producing methane, which comprises: - a step (205) for producing biogas, - a step (290) for separating a stream of carbon dioxide from a stream fed at least in part by the biogas flow, - a step (222) of supplying the carbon dioxide flow to a methanation reactor, - a step (245) of production of synthesis gas, - a step (255) of separation of the gas from synthesis into a fraction rich in dihydrogen on the one hand and a fraction rich in methane and carbon dioxide on the other hand and a step (257) of recirculation of the fraction rich in dihydrogen to supply said fraction to the methanation reactor.
