The isolator (20) is provided for a drive system (10) comprising: - a first three-phase AC power supply module (12); -a second single-phase AC power supply module (14); power module (16) adapted to convert an alternating current into direct current for supplying a traction unit (18) of the vehicle.The disconnector (20) has: a first position (I) for establishing connection between three outputs ( A ', B', C ') of the first supply module (12) and three inputs of the power module (16) respectively, and three distinct connection establishment positions (II, III, IV) between the second single-phase AC power supply module (14) and the power module (16), each of said three positions (II, III, IV) being adapted to connect respectively two outputs of the second power supply module (14) to a pair separate inputs from the three inputs of the power module (16 ).
