A method of manufacturing a filtered feedthrough assembly (100) for use with an implantable medical device (5). The method may include gold brazing an insulator (118) to a flange (110) at first braze joint (115OD), and gold brazing a plurality of feedthrough wire (104) to the insulator (118) at second braze joints (115ID). The method may further include applying a first non-conductive epoxy (150OD) to the first braze joint (115OD), and applying a second non-conductive epoxy (150ID) to the second braze joints (115ID). The method may further include grit blasting a face (111) of the flange (110), applying a conductive epoxy (152, 168) to the face (111) of the flange (110), and attaching an EMI filter (158) to the conductive epoxy (152, 168) such that it is grounded to the flange (110) via the conductive epoxy (152, 168) and not via the first braze joint (115OD) or the second braze joints (115ID).
