The invention relates to a device (1) for gripping a container preform, comprising: a base (10); a spindle (11) which is mounted on the base (10) and comprises a mandrel (16) mounted such that it pivots in a sliding manner in relation to the base (10) and a spindle nose (20) removably fixed to the mandrel (16) by means of a bayonet (21), the spindle nose (20) being provided with a cavity (35); and an ejector (22) at least partially surrounding the spindle (11), said ejector (22) being able to occupy a working position in which it is secured to the base (10) and provided with a counterpart (36) complementary to the cavity (35) of the spindle nose. In addition, the ejector (22) can be removed from the base (10) and can occupy a tooling position in which the counterpart (36) thereof cooperates with the cavity (35) of the spindle nose so that they rotate together.
