The invention relates to a locking system for an opening leaf of a motor vehicle (10) comprising an opening leaf (14) and a handle (24) which comprises a framework (26) which is designed to be fixed to the opening leaf (14), a grab lever (30) which commands the opening of a lock of the opening leaf (14), a grab element (32) which is arranged on an exterior side of the opening leaf (14) and which is designed to allow a user to actuate the grab lever (30), the grab element (32) being longitudinally delineated by a front end (42) and a rear end (44), at least one first inertial security system (28) which is mounted on the framework (26) and which comprises a rocker (58) which bears an inertial mass (64), characterized in that the axis B of rotation of the grab lever (30) extends vertically overall at the front of the front end (42) of the grab element (32), the inertial mass (64) being arranged longitudinally forward of the axis B of rotation of the grab lever (30).
